Founded with the goal of creating multiple avenues for access to the visual arts for kids and teens, the Young Artist Program also includes Summer Art Studios, Saturday Morning Discovery, and Teen Studio Intensive, along with other programs geared towards growing artists. The KIDS Challenge is part of the Young Artist Program at UTSA. “KIDS allows students to be kinetic and understand concepts through discovery by providing an opportunity for their creativity to shine through writing, drawing, building, and even public presentation.” “I have seen students blossom socially collaborating with others and becoming leaders amongst their mini-design groups,” said KIDS Program Coordinator Ramon Munoz. ![]() Students created mini-models that included donation stations, recycling centers, movie theaters and community gardens.Īlthough no winner is selected during the challenge, the event showcases the student’s mini-models and culminates in group presentations of their renovated campus designs. ![]() The challenge also includes a group project in which students design a plan to improve their campus and address community needs. This year’s competition focused on bus shelters. Students make improvements ranging from the luxurious to the practical, which they translate into small-scale models. Each year, students tour their school’s surrounding neighborhood, making connections between classroom concepts and the outside world. The fall program focuses on form and function as well as community. KIDS brings teams of teaching artists and experienced industry professionals into the classroom, informing and inspiring the next generation of creators. KIDS is an architecture-based program where students learn elements of art and design by way of exploring the built world. It is expected that MAPs are engaging and often interactive, while providing a learning opportunity for students. Adjunct instructors are responsible for operational details, including setting up of the classroom/space, preparing and organizing necessary supplies, cleaning up after class, communicating with teaching team members, communicating with the project manager, and evaluating and documenting class success. The designed template can guide the process of planning, implementing and evaluating the curriculum.UTSA is accepting applications for on-call adjunct instructors to teach and manage the operational details of education programs, workshops, and classes in conjunction with our Mobile Arts Program. The results of this study was the design of a valid curriculum model for teaching financial literacy to elementary school students, which has 21 characteristics as objectives, 26 characteristics for content, 19 characteristics for teaching methods and 8 characteristics for curriculum evaluation methods. The proposed model was designed consisting of five factors including curriculum context, objectives, content, method and characteristics of learners, and its theoretical basis is "Tyler rationale". And external audit method was used to determine the validity of the findings. In addition, 12 professors and specialists in the field of curriculum planning and primary education, economics and finance of Tehran universities with the academic rank of associate professor and professor were interviewed in 2020. To this aim, the qualitative method was used for analysis. The aim of this study was to design a financial literacy curriculum model for elementary school students.
